Access to pure, potable water is a growing concern in the developed world, but in many parts of Latin America it is a dream. More than 3.5 million people die each year from water-related disease worldwide with about 84% of these deaths being children. In Honduras, water quality is an especially acute problem, with 1.2 million people having no access to safe drinking water (World Development Indicators 2007).
The Primero Agua foundation was organized in response to this problem.
